Elijah .. you are right .. she certainly did. That could be the answer ... although she has got 2 kilts of her own. I know I used the word Kilt but please read on. When they were bought from Hector Russell in Inverness about 20/22 years ago approx I'm more than sure that they offered Mens Kilts 8yds, Ladies Kilts 6yds .. (which is what she bought) and Ladies Kilted Skirts. The ladies Kilts being slightly cut diffently for the waist/hip but other than that they are medium weight, fasten to the right and are the same in every respect as a guys kilt. I'm only guessing this is all the reason for saying unisex ... but I will ask later to find why she wrote it. Derek.

I asked my wife if she would wear a kilt (as opposed to a kilted skirt). The answer was a flat "NO". She was quite emphatic about that.

Here is my wife's response to the questionaire.
In our discussion after, she indicated that this how she feels right now, but, she is getting more comfortable with the kilt. I've only been wearing one for about a month.
She is from France. Not many kilts there.

Casey, I think you're doing better after a month than I was doing after a year. What seems to help is when they see over time that their concerns prove groundless. As has been stated many times, your pride and confidence are the key. You need to get your wife out to the Glenngary Games this year.

Yes, I think she would like it. We try to make it a habit of attending different events in the area.
My wife is used to being a little of the wall.

I asked my wife, Gina, about the questionaire. I feel pretty darn good about her responses.
1. When I'm with my husband while he wears a kilt in public I feel proud.
2. I believe that it's appropriate for men to wear kilts in public all the time.
3. The modern style of plain fabric kilts are not as attractive as traditional tartan kilts but they are perfectly acceptable.
4. I don't worry about what family and friends think about my husband wearing a kilt.
5. This is a non-issue since my husband always wears a kilt and I'm just fine with it.
6. I don't believe it is neccessary to have a scottish connection to wear a kilt.
7. Yes, I think men look sexy in a kilt.
8. In the modern world a kilt should be worn by men only.
9. When my husband bought his first kilt I liked the idea and thought it was fun.
10. Another noon-issue question since he always wears kilts and I like it that way.

Thanks, Graham. She *IS* a keeper.
A holiday in Tasmania? Certainly! Tasmania has been on my wish list for some time. However... my experience has shown that little good comes from allowing the hens to get together for a chat, and we would be in full deservance of any and all dubious consequences as a reward for facilitating the pow wow!
Seriously though, I did read through the prior posts of this thread and saw your wife's response. That was 4-5 months ago if I recall. From the tone of your recent post it is obvious that not much has changed in that time, but do you see any softening in her feelings or is the kilt simply something to be tolerated?
