Sporran design question
First, forgive me if this is not the most appropriate forum for this question (and Mods, please feel free to move the thread if you feel it should be).
In a few months, I'll be a Groomsman in a wedding party for my brother-in-law.
The dress is Highland Formal (Black tie, Prince Charlie, etc), but I'm curious for opinions on my plan for sporran.
I will be making a new sporran for myself for this event. I'm not a big fan of tassels in general, and have never included any on previous sporrans I've built (all of which would be categorized as either day wear or rustic), but I figured it'd be nice to make something a little more formal-looking this time.
I have this skunk pelt which I've been wanting to turn into a sporran for a long time, but I was thinking of using a trio of Ermine tails for (or in place of) tassels.
So, tell me; is this a ridiculous faux-pas, or am I creative genius?
(or, like my wife, you are free to just roll your eyes and say nothing)
