I think it's fine. A while back a member who was shorter and heavyset posted a photo and wondered if he shouldn't wear a kilt. That maybe he was the wrong shape to wear it well. We assured him he looked fine, the only thing he was missing was confidence. He posted a second picture (with a few more accessories and a lot more confidence) and looked great. I think that to turn around and insult this model for being too skinny is not in keeping with the good fellowship on this forum. You can dislike the hose if you want, that's personal taste (and it makes for lively discourse). Let's be welcoming and supportive of all body types.

Panache,
Well said; couldn't agree more.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.

Actually, I'm diggin' the shoes. For some reason I much prefer buckle brogues to ghillies with formals. Of course the diced hose are really not my style and aren't, IMHO, very complementary to the tartan, but hey...different strokes as they say.

I saw some terrible kilts at theichmond games this past weekend, but I didn't take any pics. I think the worst of all was a guy wearing a contemporary kilt. First of all, the guy was about 5'8" or so, and weighed in at close to 300#. Then the kilt was olive in color. Add to that, it had patch pockets in the "Gateway Tartan". You all know the one I mean, the Gateway computer black and white cow pattern. Of course, he had to compleat his outfit with a jacobite shirt and sneakers. And since he was a "brave Jacobite warrior", he had to have a hand and a half sword strapped to his waist. Hamish would have had a heart attack.

I had to wear shoes like that in 5th grade and they had taps on them. I also thought they were for a girls school outfit and we had to wear high water pants and a big giant clown bow tie . I hated it but now I wish I had a pair (with out the taps). Times change opinions.

I really don't care much for those shoes. I'd prefer the Glenfinnan style. Unfortunately they're just more money than I can justify.

but then, if paintings are any indication, the same color hose were worn by the Black Watch with the Govt Sett kilt.
