Hopefully my husband and I WILL be visiting Salisbury, NC later this year. Anyone live around there? When we head up there, we go across Alabama way and up through SC. On the way back, we go through the Rockies, across TN and down. Anyone live along those routes?

Asheville (and the local kilted rabble) is on your return route. Franklin and the Tartan Museum would be on that route as well if you diverge from I-40 and take the Smoky Mountain Expressway through the Nantahala Gorge (a very scenic route that I can recommend).
That is assuming you are traveling through the Smokies rather than the Rockies!

LOL, you meant what I knew to say! Tartan Museum? Sounds interesting. I would love to meet a few people on the way back.
