Tartan: MacAlpine, modern, then another in ancient someday.
    Weight: 13 oz
    Yardage: Whatever the box-pleats take.
Customization: I think the apron will actually open on the left for this one. Only two buckles.
Why: My tartan, and so beautiful! A less heavy kilt is best in southern California.

This would make me ecstatic! (I put this post here because the Christmas list thread is dealing with some nonmaterial thingies now.)

OK I'm new but I'm in. Here goes my dream.

    Tartan: USMC Leatherneck
    Weight: 18oz
    Yardage: 4-5 yds
Customization: 2 straps with polished titanium buckles, I like the idea of a reinforced area for kilt pin, Military box pleat or double box (I like Lady Chrystal's work) to stripe, Scarlett silk lining, straps made from stingray leather (black center cut with shaved denticals). I would also get all titanium accessories (buckle and cantel sporran with kilt pin EGA) and matching belt of stingray.
Why: This is the dream thread and I'm worth it.

I'm actually stuck. I can't decide on my next kilt because Barbara Tewksbury has delivered my dream kilt already.

Tartan: Douglas Modern, pleated to the sett
    Weight: 16 oz.
    Yardage: 6-ish? I can't remember, it's nice and heavy!
Customization: Only two buckles, the third is useless.

It's simple, but rather elegant. And now, I can't decide on another! I can't get excited about ordering another kilt, what's wrong with me?

    Great question!

Tartan: MacDonald of the Isles Hunting Weathered
    Weight: 16 oz
    Yardage: 8 yard
Customization: I would ask Robert MacDonald in B.C. to make it. I would fly out for a fitting, and have it done in the military style, box pleated to sett. I really like his work.
    Why: Because I have to.

Tartan: MacLachlan Dress (yellow & black sett)
Yardage: 9 yd (might be 8 yd, by the time I've lost what I need to lose)
    Weight: 16 oz, 13 in a pinch
Customization: Pleated to the stripe, and prolly real silver buckles.

That's what I'll be going for, once I get down to my target weight.

Tartan: Titanium chainmaille with a royal blue leather lining.
Weight: 16g links with what ever leather Rkilts uses.
    Yardage: Whatever it takes
Customization: Perhaps some copper and brass thrown in.
Why: To scare the living... because it 'aint been done before.

At the opposite end of the weight scale carbon fibre. Robert said he'd make me one if I had the money (donations accepted)

You could probably get a descent tartan by using patterns of different colored links in the chain mail.

I get the feeling mine is a little bland, but I really want one.

    Tartan: Hunter Modern (family name)
    Weight: 16oz
Yardage: Probably (I am kind of skinny)
Customization: Fringe on the front apron, pleated to the sett.
Why: I want a really nice kilt in my family tartan to wear for nice occasions
