The end result is violence on the rise even though its tools are outlawed, and gentlemen being prohibited by law from defending themselves against criminal mischief. I think this is a terribly unhealthy mindset.
Make sense now? Or just TL/DR?
I see what you're trying to say, but I still think there's a huge difference between simple rude behavior and 'criminal mischief'. Laws differ in each state, but here in Texas where I live, 'criminal mischief' is a legal term, and I can assure you that we are granted the legal right to defend against it - including the use of deadly force in certain circumstances.
But that's not what we're talking about here. Two teenage girls taking a picture in public is something that can, and should, be handled without invoking "the law" or the use of force. And at the end of the day, even if we don't like being photographed by rude girls, they absolutely have the right to do it, and we are not within our own rights to stop them. Bringing up the rise in crime across the country does not change this.
We just have to learn how to 'take the heat' when wearing a kilt. This is why many men refuse to wear one, and tell us that we have huge cojones for wearing it!

Ok, I'm cool with that, I'll relinquish the llama now. Sometimes I forget, and get dragged along...

Ehhh, I'm too young to be using high horses...they have to be grown up to, from a lifetime of experience. I'll stick with the llama for a few years yet ...

Well, you are safe, for the moment. They either A: did not get a picture, or B: have not put it up on People of walmart. http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/
For those who re not familure with this current Teen/young adult phenomon, it is a website featuring pictures of people dressed in embarrassing, ugy, etc. "clothing" (sometimes you can not even call it that). It's entire goal is to make fun of people. Some of the pictures are funny, most are just sad that people would go out like that. I have seen a couple kilts on the site, all great picture, except one. The exception is becuase the kilt hung down to his mid thigh. Yeah.
Yeah, that was their wole intention, to snap the shot and put it up on People of Walmart. Not very skilled at taking pictures obviously. Nice job getting them booted.
I was walking out of there after I had loaded up the gift card to save teh 3 cents on gas. A car was in the middle of the street, and the two guys were like taing care of something. As they climbed in, the driver called out "Hey you." It of course got my head to turn. I was the only one in the parking lot. He then said, "Don't you ******* wear that" and strted up his car. I was nevouse he was going to hit me. He proabally trips often because his pants are proabally at his knees.
Yep, that is my story.

I wonder if the reaction might have been different had the kilt been a tartan intead of the denim? I mean, the tartan is readily identifiable as a "kilt".

Also, interesting thought. I am a football coach(varsity level) and I noticed that the boys wouldn't shower after practice(which I found highly repulsive). When asked why, the overwhelming majority of answers were "thats gay!" When I was in high school, having a shower after practice was the absolute norm. Nobody ever gave it a second thought. In the Navy, the same reaction. What is it, I wonder, that has caused this strange transformation in thought?
When(seldom)I have ever heard any "gay" crack directed toward me, I simply ask what is gayer----my wearing the kilt, or your worrying about it?
(disclaimer: this post was in absolutely no way meant as derogatory toward anyone, green, blue, pink, purple, straight, or gay)

Is the POW site much different than our (now closed) "Do's and Don'ts" thread?
Does rude behaviour by two girls provide us with justification to mock Walmart customers and/or today's youth?

I've been thinking the same thing, but I just keep reading the thread.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I'm not certain why, but when I was in HS, the showers were always locked, inaccessable after gym class. However, I had worked with the equipment managers for the football team, and I know the football players showered after games and practice. Though, looking at the stereotypes, my school was rather strange. There were many openly gay students there, and they weren't taunted like I understand happened at other schools (and, yes, this was a public HS)
And this guy in the muted pink, purple, and blue sees no offense to be taken in your post.

The wife bought me the entire Brisco County Junior for my birthday a few years ago. Sounds like we both know awesome people. If only Carlton Cuse had had the free reign on that show that he got on Lost, we may have had many years more with Lord Bowler and the gang.

No, I have not heard of that site! This is one of the few websites that I spend time on. I'm not really a technology kind of person. I may have to check it out!
Brisco County... That's awesome! My parents are having their 40th anniversary vow renewal this coming weekend, which means my cousin Marty will be coming to crash at my place. It's going to be a Bruce Campbell weekend... My wife is dreading it! "Awww, c'mon!! The Man With The Screaming Brain? Again?!?!"

That's not far from the truth... I love showing people what a rising block is actually meant to be used for! ***HINT*** It's not actually a block... even though the International Santen Karate Association teaches it that way! (And no, I'm not talking about using it to hurt people. I've had people tell me that it's useless and impractical. I like teaching them the real use of it. I always get these wide eyed stares along with statements of "Oh my god!! I never thought of using it that way!!" I love to teach those that want to learn!)

I don't know one way or the other... but I do know that anti gay violence has been stepped up a little in Denver lately. I've suffered a touch of it in the form of 2 people yelling at me from the window of their delivery van. It would be funny if they actually stopped and tried to bully me the way some people have been doing lately. Not gay AND I love a good scrap! "We got our butts kicked by 6 guys in skirts! They just came out of nowhere and jumped us!!" I think what WildRover was trying to say is that there are some people who just can't be reasoned with, and something you just have to... *thump* OOOOOooooooof!"
