Jimmy Johns...how could I forget?
Didn't realize non-homemade sandwiches were game in the thread.
I rarely drive past a Jimmy John's without stopping! I invariably (and I mean that quite literally) order #10. I think they call it the Hunter's Club or something like that. I never look at the menu since discovering that savory specimen a few years back. Everyone who knows well me says "I'm going to Jimmy's. You want a sammich?" They don't even have to ask what I want.

Ah! That's on my list to try next, actually! Well, that is, once we find another Jimmy John's around.... Had a bad delivery experience last time... Refused to go back.... Stupid college town... lol

You can talk about commercial sandwiches if you want.
Strange... This thread has stayed on topic.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I guess I'll have to actually go to a Jimmy Johns now. I saw one and only remembered it for it's name. I have a twin brither named John and when we were growing up, our Dad called us "Jimmy John" to be sure he had the right name. I saw the store and it brought back memories, but I didn't actually go in.

The topic is food. Not TOO hard for the rabble to remain focused on THAT.

Without a doubt, peanut butter and bacon, preferably between two slices of lightly toasted cinamon bread.

Well, I got my style of homemade sandwiches, too, but if we're listing sandwiches from wherever that we love . . . well, just down the road . . . (sorry about the picture size)
Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood, Texas http://www.saltlickbbq.com/menu.html
None of that Carolina sweet pulled pork...this is slow-cooked pit beef brisket on white bread
with the Salt Lick's special habanero sauce, with sides of pinto beans, potato salad, cole slaw
and a sour pickle and a couple of jalapeños.
Mercy.

Well now you have all had your cholesterol fix, this is what I have almost daily for my lunch.
2 rounds of "I can't believe its not butter and has never been anywhere near a cow" buttered seeded wholemeal bread with 1 large banana sliced onto the bread. Banana butty. Try it you will be suprised.
Or instead of banana, 1 sliced fresh peach or apple (peeled).
I also like bread and marmalade or fruits of the forrest jam/preserve/jelly. Jam butty.
Chris.
