With the temperatures around here lately, to make these fit, I might modify #5 to be I AM COOL in one. I wear pants to work (because I have to), and those are really HOT in 90+ weather

So true! Many times I have looked down and discovered that I had forgotten to zip up last time I zipped down!
No such problem when kilted. Freedom!

Some crackin' laughs in this thread. "I see that you wear the hat."
I had to wipe mee monitor down. Thanks for that.
Why do I wear the kilt?
I'll go with these answers, some of which have already been delivered.
- It is comfortable, stylish and versatile. The same garment can be worn formally or informally. You can't do that with a tux.
- I'm growing to like the irritation it causes in the intolerant and their resulting discomfort and great gnashing of teeth.
- I like the enjoyment it brings to those who are broadminded enough to appreciate it and I also like the complements they freely dispense.
- I love the way it starts conversations with complete strangers who would otherwise not even see you, let alone speak.
- And coz I can... So I do.

I see with great sadness the virulent anti-Scottish comments that now appear regularly in our British national press whenever a Scottish themed article appears. I even experienced it on two holidays earlier this year when people whom I wouldn't have regarded as extremist in any way felt that it was appropriate to label Scots in general (and myself by implication) as "subsidy junkies" mentioning the raft of social benefits we appear to enjoy at the expense of the English taxpayer. It even extended to the use of the epithet "sweaty socks" to describe Scots which I did find objectionable.
This actually came as a bit of a surprise to me and something I have to say I have not experienced before so your comment confirms the sort of attitude that seems to be growing towards the Scots.
