Ah. I figured as much. I used to be surprised by some of the thought processes people used. Not so much anymore.

The strangest part for me was "Clearly, men in the Old Testament didn't wear the type of skirts or kilts, which some uncouth (lacking refinement or cultivation or taste) men wear today. There's just something uncouth about a man wearing a kilt! "
As far as I can tell, kilt wearers generally aim to be more refined and tasteful in the way that they dress, especially the younger generation (myself included) who lament the deplorable state of clothing among their peers. When others are wearing jeans and a t-shirt and jacket as "dinner wear", I'm wearing a kilt, tie and waistcoat (and obviously not just that).

    Cheers,

    Kilts are NOT sinful

Been reading all the replies concerning the website where Mr. Stewart denounces kilt wearing as sinful. Christ came into my heart and changed my life 39 years ago; I have read the Bible through multiple times and nowhere does Scripture indicate that wearing kilts is wrong. The scriptures he cites in his sermon have nothing to do with men wearing kilts. Kilts are a distinctly male garment (especially the utility type), so his point falls flat with that. Now, those passages DO deal with men wearing female attire, but kilts? NOT. As long as a man looks and dresses as a man, no problemo with the Lord. Not to mention the fact that Jesus Christ Himself wore unbifurcated garments. So if someone wants to use God's word to condemn kilt wearing.... that, my friend is a fool's errand (impossible). I am a Christian, and I own 7 kilts and wear them out and about often. That is a part of my heritage, and even if it was not - I would probably still wear them. Bottom line: Kilts are NOT sinful.

    Norm (and everyone else here),

I agree with all of you. No where in the Scriptures does it say that kilts are sinful. Of course, the fact that kilts were not yet invented might have something to do with that. I find it interesting when fanatics attempt to prove a point by taking scriptures or any other fact out of context. That serves only to make the fanatics seem the the bigger fool and/ or sinner.

Mr. Stewart better not be wearing garment of mixed threads (you know, polyester and cotton)? That ranks right up there with eating shrimp as an anathama. Heaven help me, I do both.

Anyway, I hope that the rest of the sane population has a great weekend.

Guys... This is starting to get into a religious discussion.

    Nix! (Shot across the bow!)

It started off light-heartedly, but this is getting serious enough that it needs to end. We agree that the guy is wrong and probably nuts. Maybe it's time to leave it like that.

    Best regards nevertheless,
