NO COLOR OPTION - "SORRY" "NO ORDER""!!!!!
I will not be satisfied with the stay the course!
Stay on track! Same ole - same ole!
I have 4 pins - 2 from the 1st batch which had bad
fastening pins in the back and 2 from the second run
which were greatly improved although smaller by 1/4
inch in size.
I have a varity of kilts with many tartan patterns.
The "plain jane" xmarks pin does not excite me
anymore. The idea of the Moderators and Administrators
having a special color pin; seen only in their local area
I might add, is rather absurb. It would be much better
to have the color option available to any of the xmarks
members who live in the four corners of the globe.
Thus they could have a xmarks pin that matches blends
in or contrasts with the kilt tartan they have selected.
I do not mean to discourage any xmarks member from
getting their pin. It is a very fine pin and well worthy of
your wearing proudly as a member of this forum but I am
very critical of the VERY LIMITED COLOR option 1 ONLY -
that being pewter; dull grey.
If it costs more to have a chrome pin or a bronze/copper/
gold color pin so be it. I am willing and able to pay for such
an option. I resent that the option is NOT OFFERED. There
were a few members who had expressed their interest in
the color option in replys to this thread. They will not be
totally disappointed in getting their first xmarks pin but will
after time wonder why was this was not offered in some
other color/finish?
There - I got this off my chest. If some ruffling of feathers;
rocking the boat; making waves has occurred - well that
is what a forum is for is it not?

Well I must admit that I has honored to receive my Moderator kilt pin from Hank. What makes it special Is the work we Mods put in and the thought that Hank appreciates what we do.
I therefore suggest that if the plain Jane doesn't float your boat you buy something else.As you put it "No colour option. No Order"

Whew, I'm certainly glad you feel better after getting that load off your chest.
Members of this forum have a kilt pin that is exclusively available to them. It is a pewter pin.
Staff members of this forum have a kilt pin that is exclusively available to them. It is a copper pin.
There are no other pins. And that is where it ends, so you're going to have to either get over it or get used to it.
The copper pins are not going to be made available to anyone for any price. Cajunscot, Freelander Sporrano, Colin, Kiltedmusiclover and Rufus have all paid for the pins they wear. They have paid dearly, by sacrificing their personal time to help with the day-to-day operations of this forum. The owner of this Web site and forum has shown his appreciation for our service by having an exclusive pin made for us.
What do you figure your personal time is worth to you? I've been working on the forum for well over 13 hours straight, just today alone. I've seen Cajunscot, Freelander Sporrano and Kiltedmusiclover in and out of here on several occasions in those 13+ hours. So trust me, we've earned the copper pins that we wear. And, as Highlandtide has already indicated, the only thing lost in selling the copper pins would be the priceless value that we associate with being able to wear them.
...well that is what a forum is for is it not?
I'm willing to wager that if you carry on with this kind of rant, you'll soon learn the answer to that question.

It's not absurd at all to allow the Mods a unique pin. To unload like that on such a petty issue is.
You could always take your kilt pin from the earlier batch and have your own made in whatever metal you want. If you're willing to pay the price for it, go for it.

Wow! I've just ordered and PayPaled my first XMarks pewter kilt pin that I'll wear with my daywear kilts while traveling and around town. All my kilt pins are special, and this too, will be. Like Henry Ford said about the Model T. "You can have it any color...As long as it is black."

Fine, enough said. We will all ignore the rest of the rant. If you feel that strongly, the exit door is on the upper right hand corner of the window and is, appropriately enough, a large X. Feel free to use it. You are not required to purchase anything you do not like. The pewter pins are a symbol of people's commitment to and membership in Xmarks, and the copper pins are a special symbol of the mods who help support it. Hank did not have to develop or endorse any items for the site and could have just provided some speial token for the mods. Accept what is available or not, but please don't whine about it. You have been a user on this forum long enough to know it won't get you anywhere.

Yeah! What he said! I mean, for as much as I pay to participate in this forum I should be able to demand special stuff!
