Yes, but it's elephant garlic... So I guess it's to keep the elephant vampires away from my elephant food plants.

On the other hand, they would keep those vampire bugs out of the vegetable gardens too... I don't plan on planting the garlic while wearing a kilt either way.

    New member - be kind

For some time now, I have been a member of this fine group and I have enjoyed reading the many threads. Sure, I am in the shadows, watching and listening. But when I read this thread, I had to put in me 2 cents.
Yes, I am kilted and proud of it.
As far as wearing a kilt on halloween, go for it. Where I work, men can only wear business causal (dockers and dress shirt). As for women, they get away with everything.
Last year, I wore my Utilikilt and got a free lunch. And the ladies loved it.

This year, I plan on wearing my McDonald Sportkilt with all that goes with it.

    Thanks,

    Brad P.

Well, this year my costume is a large magnet with baby chickens on the ends. Yep, "chick magnet". So since the clothes don't matter to the costume I'll be kilted.

This E-Bay'er feels it is acceptable.

May be a good bargain (and in time for Halloween) for someone much smaller than me!

I ended up planting the garlic yesterday... so I won't be planting it for Halloween.

I'll have to plant something else for Halloween. Probably some vegetable of some sort... Probably broccoli.

And I won't be wearing a kilt either!!

I personally don't like it to see people go guising in your fake wal-mart kilts. They don't understand that some people dress like that on a daily basis, and this is our culture, we like it, dinna make it satirical. X(

    Kilt = Costume ?????

Yes this year I WILL be wearing one of my kilts to work as a "Costume". As this is a way around my boss's absolute proscription on my kilts! As it stands at work several of my friends have already asked " you ARE going to wear a kilt, aren't you"? The answer was a resounding YES

The first time I wore a kilt was as a costume for Halloween 2001, as "Braveheart." My neighbor was a costumer and made the Kilt for her teen son to wear to RenFair.

If I had not felt so comfortable that weekend, I would not have gone on to buy 5 kilts. Halloween got me into Kilts (literally and figuratively).

Another year, the same Neighbor's son wore his Kilt and a Darth Vader mask for Halloween. "Darth Wallace." (ouch)

Last year I went to a party as a demon with horns, and a tail protruding from below my Kilt. Sure I could have used pants, but the effect with a kilt was much better.

So if the kilt works with a costume - go for it.

For me, Halloween is also a celebration of 7 years of kilted living.
And you may ask yourself, Well how did I get here?
