Great Weather Report
It is rainy and nasty and generally unpleasant in the Atlanta area just now. Maybe I should say, "still rainy and nasty . . ." since we've been flooded--literally--since Sept. 21. We even have FEMA in doing some of whatever they do.
But . . . it's really looking up for the Games this weekend. The Weather Channel predicts the following:
Friday: high of 61
Sat: high of 58
Sun: high of 61

And there'll be no rain and the sun will shine, at least most of the time! Now that's perfect weather for the Games. Any warmer, and it starts to get hot out there.
Y'all come. It's gonna be great. On Friday evening as we gather at the Celtic, it'll be cool and sunny, just right for standing in the street and telling lies.

Here's hoping a few more guys show up. I'll pass the word to Greg (ther new owner) that we're taking over.
My brother and I will be arriving at the campground sometime Friday afternoon. I'll let him know about this meet up and see if we can make it. If not I hope to meet many of you on Saturday!
EDIT: Is anyone else staying in the campground that night going to this meetup? We're taking my brothers car and he doesn't want to drive so if anyone wants to carpool I'm willing to kick in something for gas or a round, etc.

That weather is going to be spot on! And I'm hoping that, due to all the rain we've been getting recently, the dust will be less prevalent than usual.
... washing a kilt after the Stone Mountain games looks like you're trying to make tea in the bath tub.

And possibly one more from this direction
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I'm back in the country just in time for this glorious event. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again, and meeting all the new folks.
Turpin, thanks for offering up the Gordon tent as a meeting spot. I will see you all there. As Cawdorian said, everyone please feel free to stop by the Lamont tent at anytime as well.
The gathering at the German restaurant on Saturday evening should not be missed. The food is wonderful, and it is a great place to finish off the day with lots of laughing and carrying on. Whoever gets there first, try to get a table, several tables, on the patio. It is much roomier out there, and we will disturb less people that way.
I should be at the Celtic in Conyers on Friday night. I have reception tickets too, but my schedule Friday night is going to be challenging, so we will see if I make it to both.
Safe travels to everyone. See you all this weekend.
Slainte,
