I've got to go ahead and disagree with most of the negatives.

The asymmetry is brilliant. Minimal asymmetry is absolutely something that's been played with in fashion for some time but it's quickly becoming very mainstream.

The boots are very TFCK - matching the outfit, therefore.

The only thing I'd lost is the sporran - don't care for them at all and I'm really not loving the brown/black leather thing that's going in kilts right now. Again, very Howie Nicholsby.

Oh, and he could stand to lose that broochey thing

Sweet Boots! Of course, only Alan Cumming could pull them off with that outfit... Impeccable tailoring goes a long way, too.

i think he looks rather dapper in some way he`s also making a bold statement by being dressed in so much of his clan tartan shows a real sense of pride
and with the boots lets face it alan just has to put his stamp on any piece of clothing he wears its his nature to do so

She didn't set her dog on some kids, Daz. According to the published article, the dog was running loose (ie: off the lead) at the time the offense occurred. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between walking a dog without a lead, and setting a dog on another person.

With all the comments on how Mr. Cumming "lives on the edge" and the references to his theatrical career, do any of you suppose that this was more of a calculated "look at me costume" than a natural expression of his Scottish origins?

Personally, I was thinking so at first. But the fact that he chose a plain tie over a tartan tie made me think that maybe it wasn't a "look at me" thing. Certainly if he were trying to be over the top, he'd have picked a tartan tie to go along with it?

I think his outfit would have looked a lot better with the jacket in a plain burgundy color to match his hose...

You have to say he pulled it off!!!The outfit just fits this personalty,most of the guys here could no put this off.

He looks great...cutting edge w/ the boots. I almost think the solid red hose and black boots balance all the tartan...or give it a strong foundation. I also think he might be one of only a few men to pull this off successfully.

I'm a BIG fan of the man...
