Since I spotted this thread a few days ago, I've been voting daily from home, and again from the office.

I'm with you Tobus. For me, "sharp" means classic, smart, and with personal flare. There's a few of my competitors who are looking pretty sharp and some others who look so hip, it hurts
I wonder if there is also an emphasis on designer fashion labels in the way these people are conceptualizing "smartness?" This pretty much makes me the dark horse... in the contest photo, my shirt was custom tailored in Hong Kong, while the kilt was made to my measurements by the Frugal Corner from a tartan that I designed myself. A school tie, vintage tweed jacket, second-hand vest, and no-name sporran aren't fitting that mould either. My Locharron hose or Dr. Martens shoes are as close to designer label as I got ![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

I'm now at 1120 Unfortunately, I'm in 8th place overall and 5th place among the online entries, so I'm going to need a bit of a surge in this last week of voting in order to make it to the judging round. So keep voting, everyone! And I love people posting back here to show their support.
It is also good to have heard back from the United Council of Scots In Atlantic Canada, who have forwarded the information around to all the Scottish groups they are affiliated with, Canada-wide.

Vote cast #1134.
I have also posted a link on my Facebook page as many of the people who will see it there are my relatives who are all based in Canada, might just get you a few more votes.
Best of luck!

You look great in the kilt! I read through the comments and can’t believe how utterly stupid some people are. Moreover, the ones with higher votes are wearing the same thing I see here in Australia every day, nothing special, the same men’s fashion that has been unchanged for 100 years. We need more men in kilts on the streets because I am sick to death seeing men in suits or jeans.

That is a very apt quote, Father. Very apt indeed...

Even though this doesn't exactly apply (I think you actually do look quite sharp there CMcG), there is another quote that does apply to the hipster looks in the others:
“If you are part of a society that votes, then do so. There may be no candidates and no measures you want to vote for ... but there are certain to be ones you want to vote against. In case of doubt, vote against. By this rule you will rarely go wrong.”
