I noticed your post on Alan's FB and it sounds like you're really hurting. I hope the back issues resolve quickly and you're back on the field again in all appropriate haste. Take care of yourself. Good luck.

Yeah, this is pretty nasty. The latest update is that the Dr. is pretty sure she hasn't cracked a vertebrae or something horrible like that, but it could be a disk issue. It's "probably" a muscle problem, which of course still hurts like ^$#!@# but is fixable without surgery.

It's improving slowly but surely. Physical Therapy is in the pipeline, and I'm possibly on track to go back to yoga next week, which I suspect will help speed recovery.
It's just a crappy situation - it was a small injury that got severely aggravated by a fall down some steps. This will set me back a bit, but that's the way the cookie crumbles as my mother always says.

I've been back to the gym, and I'm working slowly from the ground up.
Squats feel f'n great. I did a 155# set yesterday, and I'm staying there for a while before trying more. I'm being reeeally careful with the deadlifts - I did 10@ 65# on Saturday and that was it. I might add a teensy bit more weight on Wednesday and do it again.
I'm glad to see that I'm mostly intact. I can still do the curls I was doing when I took the fall. I probably COULD do heavier squats but I am refusing it on the grounds of the injury and ... other factors. Deadlifts... well, again, I just need to be really careful about anything that messes with my low back.
Gonna go do some throwin' today. Oh yes.

Plan is to be there tomorrow if possible. My back's been cranking since I blew up another disc, so I need to take it easy.
... but I need to practice my turns on WFD - for some reason my brain has a hell of a time with that.

Magically, miraculously, marvelously - I made it through a games following a night of fitful sleep due to serious back pain. Something corrected itself in the wee hours between 3am and 6am, though, because I woke up feeling mostly okay. I survived hammer, so I kept going. Survived WFD, kept going. Stones. Kept going. Caber - killed it! WOB? Not so great, but held on. Sheaf? Not great, but first in my class.
Ugh! I forgot to reg for ABQ. Here's crossing my fingers I can still get in.
