No kilt for an unusual Friday for me. I understand the sporran issue... for me it is an always crooked tie.

A great day. Started out with a school band competition for my older son:
A few of his female friends called him over after the competition and asked him why his dad was wearing a kilt. "Isn't he Mexican?" "Yes Mexican and Scottish" When they found out he has one as well they told him he should wear his to school. I'm guessing he'll come to breakfast before school dressed in his kilt one day next week. One wouldn't want to disappoint ones fans.
Then on to the gym with my wife for a vigorous workout. I had my compression shorts on under my kilt for quick change purposes. When I removed my kilt in the locker room another gentleman quipped in a light hearted manner "I guess you just answered the age old question" regarding whats under the kilt. Another asked if I was wearing it for a happy or sad occasion. I answered that it was just kilted Friday. After working out, on the way out, one of the gym employees said "I really dig your kilt" he went on to relate it made him think of a friend he used to work with in IT who wore a kilt every day. I told him I wish that I could as well but I have to wear a uniform for work so it's just when I can and today is "no pants Friday", got a good laugh.
Good lunch at our favorite sushi bar. Picked up the kids from school then went bowling:
Action shot of me bowling a strike. (one of very few)
And my younger son after bowling a strike.
Enjoy your weekend.

Looking good!
No photos, but I wore my new USAK kilt belt today and met a pal for lunch. He has a new job and is deciding how to broach the subject t of kilt Fridays. They have a sort of casual Fridays thing, so we're hopeful.

A bittersweet kilted Friday for me... Twas my last day on my job as the IT Manager for my company. I'm on to hopefully greener pastures, but it still wasn't an easy decision to leave such a great group of individuals. Pictured here is my new USA Kilts Semi-Trad MacLaren. I was able to swoop in as they posted their last bit of material for sale. As an Eagle Scout, I lucked out on this one and will wear it proudly for years to come. Also pictured is Sandi, our business analyst. Great gal and I'll miss working with her daily...
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. The same goes for Iowa.

It's been a week of St. Patrick's Day events which I wore my Newsome single box pleat in St. Patrick's tartan.
So today, I wore my Sanderson Kingussie in Scottish Wild Cat tartan. It was a quiet day till the end of my office day when the residents arrived for Happy Hour. One of my residents commented she wanted to bring her camera to take my photo. [The lady is a little frail and I started to say I take one with my camera for her.] And they she added I get my daughter Kathryn to take it as she is a much better photographer. [Her daughter is a knock out.] Great, I said, any time.

Just business at the office, today. One of my residents daughters came by to pay her mother's dues. She commented on my kilt asking if I had someplace special to go to. No, I replied and I explained Kilted Friday's being a take off of casual Fridays. She left her Vette in a No Parking Zone. I commented on the car, not were it was parked. She told me about it and I told her about my TR.
As I was walking to my car at the end of the day, a lady resident had parked her car to go to Happy Hour. She rolled the window down and said I love my that outfit. I really have to get my daughter Kathleen to take your photo. Now, as I said before her daughter is a looker. I thought, promises, promises..........

Sir, your devotion to "Kilted Friday" is admirable, and I (always) enjoy your postings, photos... and the associated stories that go with them.
Thank you!!
