Show us your "Great Kilt" (belted plaid) pictures

I thought there was already a thread on this one but couldn't find it. Thinking it would be fun and useful to share our best photos of wearing the "great kilt" I will just start one myself.

Though certainly no expert, I was able to figure out to pleat, belt on, and wear mine with the help of some very good advice here on XMTS. I found them to be pretty comfortable once you get the hang of it.

    Here is my best effort

I look forward to seeing everyone else's photos

I'll see if I can take some soon. Probably won't be till the weekend because of homework.

This shot was posted elsewhere, but I'll repeat here.

I sewed down the pleats, both Scooby and I have xkilts of similarly colored material and I doubt I'll find another use for it. I may sometime take out the stitching and instead sew in shade tape for a drawstring. I find this a very comfortable garment as well, although better for outdour use as the upper half tends to be rather bulky.

This is a very old picture since I only wear it for very dressy occassions, occassions that are "formal," and it's not a very good photo. I assure you that I'll get a better one next time I wear it. But here goes:

    Thumbs up

    Ooo good thread.

Here's some pics from the Halloween party we had at work. Sadly these were taken at the end of the day and my kilt isn't looking the best - I've rolled it up so it's not as volumous as it was earlier - more to keep it out of the way as I'm the only IT guy at my company and it's challenging enough not exposing ones self when crawling under desks (and I had to that day) let alone having loose fabric across the chest.

Sadly the Rob Roy sporran I was making didn't turn out.
And yes, I know the Blackberry isn't a period piece :P

I pulled it up into a cape a few times as it was raining out. Got a few looks at the local stores when I was out on lunch too - but I was dry!

    And just for the charm...

Hands down the most comfortable piece of clothing I own. I'd wear it much more often if I could.
I usually wear it down a touch further - mid to bottom of my knee, but I had to get dressed in a hurry that morning and didn't have time for adjustments. Mayhaps I'll get more pics when I've got it looking better and post them.

    Tėoraidh!
