    Not even trews

Does anybody know where I can get some decent tartan pants? They don't even have to be real trews. I mean, look at this:

I don't care who you are, he looks good. I'm just wondering if it possible to get tartan pants for under $100. Trews would be ideal, but their price seems to hover at about $200 for the cheap ones. Thanks.

You might have some luck at thrift shops... I used to have a couple of pairs of tartan pants, and I think I paid about $2 each... But if you want a particular tartan, you're probably gonna have to pay retail...

What was the name of that punk shop, they used to carry something like that. Hot Topic?

The tartan pants from Hot Topic are probably not what he's looking for... they have many MANY superfluous zippers, D-rings, and "bondage" straps. They are made of a parhetically light synthetic knit, and the construction is shoddy at best. And with a starting price of about $80, I definitely do not recommend them.

Okay, scratch that idea. My daughter dragged me in there years ago and I wasn't really paying attention to much of their stock.

Yeah, Hot Topic is out. I go to thrift stores a lot (college student, heh) so yeah, maybe I'll be able to find some tartan ones there. Ideally, though, I'd like a pair in Gordon and Black Watch.

Orvis had some weathered Gordon looking tartan trousers on sale and they were due to get a reorder of some other tartans right about now. Don't know if they are still on sale or not. Think my post was on this thread about mid-May.

Okay, found the page. Still on sale in what they call sage which is VERY similar to weathered Gordon, not exact, but very close.

When I ordered these the lady on the phone said they were expecting the other tartans in around July 3...but they're not on the website.

May be best to order the Sage/Weathered Gordon while they're still on sale for $79. (regular $129)

I've worn my pair about six times. Like them. Wool is substantial but not heavy. I'm guessing maybe 11 ounce. They're dry clean only but haven't had to yet.

I'm pleased. The stretch waist part is good for a fat olde man like me too.
