Murray Heraldry Project
Over the past years I've gotten more and more into genealogy, specifically of course, my (distant) Scottish connections. That inevitably led me to my clan: Murray, our chief: the 12th Duke of Atholl, and of course: his coat of arms. Being a very visual thinker, it took only a tiny bit of study to become instantly fascinated with heraldry. I found a great paper on genealogical study based almost purely on heraldry records "Heraldic investigations anent early Murray genealogy"- Dr Bruce McAndrew, and I was hooked. What started as simple research into the origin of the "azure, three mullets argent" turned into a full tree showing the origin of (almost)every family/clan/regional arms that have appeared in the long lines and branches of the Murrays. My goal is solely to have a cool display for my basement and occasional clan tent at highland games, nothing more. I've sent this along to the Clan Murray Society of N. America Historian for review as I'm positive this needs proof-reading/editing, but as of yet, no response. So I thought I'd share it here as well for anyone interested. Thanks for any feedback!
