Clark tartan
Some time back there was a thread dealing with a Clark tartan. There is a Clark sett that isn't Clergy and, in fact, predates the Clergy, first registered to the name in Wilsons 1819 Key Pattern Book.
Just a bit of trivia for those interested.

That one is probably even beyond old and rare. Gordon might be able to weave it up for ya.
I found it in a book, The Clans of Scotland by Micheil MacDonald.

Hmmm.... According to the International Tartan Index, that particular tartan (No. 4094) is attributed to Lochcarron of Scotland, with a date of 18th October, 2000.
Of the different Clark/Clergy tartans recorded in the ITI, a few are attributed to Wilsons of Bannockburn, but none from their 1819 Key Pattern Book. In fact, I have a copy of The 1819 Key Pattern Book: One Hundred Original Tartans by Peter MacDonald (Micheil MacDonald's son), which gives the details of all of the named tartans from the 1819 KPB, and there is not a Clark, Clergy, or Priest tartan mentioned.
I'm curious, can you provide the details of the book you got this informaiton from (title, author, publication date?).
Now, if someone is looking for a Clark tartan that is not connected with the Clergy tartan, there is one, and it was produced by Wilsons of Bannockburn, though the earilest known date is 1847, not 1819. It's the "Clerke of Ulva" tartan:

This one would have to be custom woven if anyone were interested in it.
By the way, Ulva is the ancestral home of the MacQuarrie clan, but was owned by the Clark/Clerke family for quite some time.
