Western Kentucky Highland Festival
The Western Kentucky Highland Festival will be taking place at the city park in Murray Ky. This years event is taking place on Sept. 13-14, with games, demonstrations, pipe bands, and vendors.
Also as a special treat at 8p.m. on the campus of Murray State University we have a special concert featuring Isla St. Clair. This special event, direct from Scotland, combines singing, piping and historical film making into an entertaining program. It is an ideal opportunity to meet the creators of the award winning film WHEN THE PIPERS PLAY the story of the Great Highland Bagpipe, first shown on PBS and the History Channel. For more information check out her website www.islastclair.com
For more information on the festival the site is www.wkyhighlandfestival.com/
For those of the rabble who are in the area I would like to see you out there on the 14th.

I intend on being there. Something came up (about 20 minuets ago) that might put a damper on it all I could be sitting at home all weekend
If it looks like I'll be able to make it, I'll PM you next week.

Reverend,
I'd love to join Dirk on a day trip to Murray.
Regrettably the wee wifie booked a trip to Scotland that same weekend. So to keep the peace, it seems it would be best to do as I'm instructed and join her.
You'd probably rather hear from people telling you they'll be attending... wish I could do both.
It's actually been a few years since I've been able to attend any Games - piping gigs always occur the same dates. Too often it's due to other local pipers who've scheduled something, then cancel so they can attend the Games instead.
Subsequently, I get a call from a panicked bride, etc. Then they get their hackles up when I quote them my price to bail them out.
Usually I get it sorted out & their feathers smoothed.
Slainte,
steve

If I had to choose between Scotland and Murray......Scotland would win anytime.
