AZ renfest
Just a note to the Arizona rabble, the Arizona Renaissance Faire starts on Feb 6th.

If you go, don't miss two of my favorite Texas acts; Tartanic and Wine & Alchemy.
And be sure and take the kids to see Twig the Fairy.

Thanks for the recommendations, Zardoz. My church is planning a group trip to the faire and I've ordered some inexpensive wool blend tartan to make a great kilt so I can go kilted appropriately for the era

Thanks for the notice- love Tartanic. I'll have to check out Wine and Alchemy. Maybe the Mediaeval Baebes will be there.

wow....the price has gone up .....again..... looks like I wont be going this year...when it was like 14 buck to get in I was ok with it, but now that I have to pay for more people (2 kids and 2 adults) I cant see paying that much anymore.

At 20 bucks, their gate price is cheaper than TRF ($23), but the dollar off "online discount" is sort of a joke. The TRF online tickets are $19 too, but at least that's 4 bucks off! Sort of crazy, that the hard tickets from the Fry's Food store are cheaper than a on-line ticket!? and the kid prices are too high.
But it's still a really nice faire.
Weren't you talking about going to Estrella? It's a lot cheaper than that!

lol yeah it is....but 5 days of fun, (AND no kids) and free flowing drinks Vs 8 hours, and expensive(not to mention small) drinks makes Estrella War more fun
(that and @ estrella war I get to play my pipes, where @ the renfaire the ....shall we say frown upon "outsiders" playing music)

Not to mention...
More authentic
Less crowded
Less kids
"Merchants Row"! Where there are more REAL items to purchase instead of cheap, overpriced touristy junk!
Oh yeah, and fairy wings & elf ears are rarely seen...unless you're around 3 years old!
B.
(Will be heading out to 'war' tomorrow afternoon!)
