A new kilt and kilted weekend
My second kilt..
Well this weekend Hosehead and I headed to the celticclassic in Bethlehem, PA, it was more of a shopping trip than a trip to see anything in particular. He checked out Amerikilts which I like, but would probably go with a Pittsburgh Kilt when I am ready to go for a less traditional kilt, I really like the way the Patriots one looks and would love a Bills Kilt. Anyway we walked around the many shops and saw some great kilts that I would have jumped on if money allowed, we ended up at USAKilts, I knew that if I was going to buy a kilt there it would be from them. Kathy and I had stopped in to see Rocky an Kelly while on our way to the airport to go to Dublin, after talking to Kelly I knew these were great people, also since I got to see the kilts while there I knew they were a quality product that would hold up for a long time. I had gotten measured while I was there so I knew what size I needed. While looking through the racks I found a Scottish National, in a 36 long, it fit great over my jeans and even better once I got it home.
The whole experience of buying the second kilt was a great one, Kelly remembered me from my brief visit a few weeks before, which was shocking after seeing all the people that were in and out of their tent while I was there. Rocky was quite helpful to Hosehead who found a Div 17 kilt in his size and picked that up.
Once the kilts were purchased We decided that to celebrate we should go out in the kilts, so we headed back from Bethlehem we stopped at my house so I could change, I decided to hold off on wearing the new USAKilt until Saturday and wore my black Stillwater. Luckily my sporran had arrived on Friday so I was able to wear that and keep my stuff with me.
The trip out was a pretty uneventful one, there were a few questions and a few odd looks but nothing that amounted to a big deal. I do think it was easier since Hosehead and I were both kilted, kind of a security in numbers thing.
Saturday, we had Hosehead's bachelor party and once again it was a kilted event. A great time was had by all, I did get a few comments on how great the kilt looked. Ran into a lady that I work with and chatted with her a bit, she also liked the kilt. I found the Uk more comfortable than the SW economy (I know I know), and comments seemed to come more in the tartan kilt.
I figure about the time Rocky and Kelly catch up from this weekend I will be ready to order my next kilt. :-)

Great story, thanks for sharing it. I must admit that I am a little envious, I wish I could just call in to see Rocky and Kelly and check out the kilts!!

Sorry I am so late on chiming in on this one...
We did have a blast during the bachelor party, and I only had to stop a few ladies from hiking it up for a peek...
I ended my evening after stumbling across a vehicle versus pedestrian accident, at which I assisted EMS and FD with rendering care while still kilted...I am not sure if anyone got a peek that they should not have, as I forgot that I was wearing it until the incident was over. I wonder what the lads from the bone box thought when they saw me....LOL
Anyway, I think another Harrisburg kilted night is coming (very) soon, eh, possingk?

Sounds like a good eve, to me.
If I *ever* get out to Penn.....
