    Dirk restoration with embellishments

I was given an old dirk set ( sans the sheath) (top picture) so I decided to make my own and embellish it in an older more decorative fashion.
The original dirk set was a cheap Chinese reproduction but with no case or sheath of any kind. (I have not done anything with the second set as of yet.)

I used silver plated pressed brass from an thrift store picture frame, cut and rework the metal to fit the new configurations needed, then glued and tacked them in place.
Also added a few detail pieces that I found on Etsy. All together it took a couple of days to complete once all the materials were collected.

I think it will work fine as a prop for portrait painting, because it looks pretty good with the sporran I made last spring.

You are far more creative and capable with that than I. Well done, Lad!

    Sorry Father

Indeed, it should have been Dominoes. Not a good speller I'm afraid.
It was just a joke we used to say when we were kids. Say it fast, or sing it and it sounds kind of like Latin.
