The Kilted Legend

Hamish is renown in the Kilt world and on this forum. His humor, sense of style and his willingness to share his love for the kilt with the world through his photos and words have been a inspiration to many.
Hamish was one of the first to purchase kilts in what is now known as the modern style.
As each kilt arrived he would take photos posed in his garden or out in his new kilt. Some photos were serious, some whimsical and fun but all showed the world that the kilt did not have to be stuffy and did not need to be worn just one way.
His photo essays became the standard of how to pose in the kilt. Hamish's infectious sense of humour came through in his photos and how he posed began to be imitated. The "Hamish" was a pose that became known worldwide. It was almost always accompanied by a shot at his garden sundial showing the pleats.
It is unusual for a person to have both a verb and a noun named for them but you can "Do a Hamish" meaning to post a photo emulating the Hamish pose, or you could be described as "You really Hamish'ed that kilt." which would mean that you showed off your kilt as well as Hamish.
The above photo is "The Sundial Pleat Shot" and below is The Hamish MKII pose.
Hamish has one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of kilts in the world. Known as The Kilt Kollection, it now numbers over 100 kilts from just about every kiltmaker currently in the business.
When the subject of The X Marks Honour Roll first came up there was a resounding and unanimous vote to induct Hamish and retain the title he has held for the past 20 years. "The Kilted Legend".
Hamish was inducted to the Honour Roll on 1 June 2011.
