Finally got my sgianan done
It has taken me an extra long time on these. Besides me being almost as old as dirt, my wife has been very ill. I have been taking care of her, no family anywhere near close by. She is starting to get better now, thank you Lord.
Picture with 8 sgianan are the ones I just finished. Blades are 440C stainless, handles are a mix of hardwoods that I picked up on my travels, such as mopani, bubinga, ebony, and some wood from Brazil that I never could find the name of.
Picture with 7 sgianan are some I made a couple of years ago.

I am fortunate enough to own one of Stickman's sgians. He was kind enough to send one to me as a get well gift. Not only does he forge the blade, which is incredibly sharp, he polishes the pommel stones. Outstanding work.

Thank you all for your kind words. These are probably the last ones I will ever make. My hands are getting bad, I wanted to make sheaths for these but I can't pull the thread. My thumb is so bad I can hardly play a grace note on my practice chanter. I really miss playing my pipes, but I just don't have the stamina. So I have to be happy with the practice chanter. It's like they say " getting old is not for sissies".
I thank God every day for the talents He has given me.
