In 2004 Hank Hanna was looking for a way to share some amusing photos he had taken of how some people dress at Highland Games. He began posting them on the web by starting a website he named xmarksthescot.com. This website soon attracted other kilt wearers who would post and comment on their own photos.
Hank's original dream and vision was to provide a place for kilt wearers to meet others and exchange hints and tips about kilt wearing. Little did Hank realize that his small idea would one day be the largest and most active on-line forum on the subject of the kilt.
Hank ran X Marks from its inception in January 2004 until October 2008 when a new baby and additional job requirements prevented him from giving the forum the attention it needed.
Today, we credit Hank with the dream and the vision that is X Marks and are proud to call him "The Father of X Marks".
Hank was inducted to the X Marks Honour Roll on 1 June 2011.
