    Caber hunting

To some this is just a picture of a guy in a skirt with a log on his shoulder.

To me it is much more than that...

On Easter Sunday I had dinner at my moms house with my family, I went for a walk [50 acres] and found a good tree for a Caber. Today [wearing my BlackWatch Kilt] I cut the tree down and drug it through the woods 100+/- yards and down the field about 300-400 yards. I still need to cut it down some and debark the small end.

Sorry for the dark pic but the sun was setting and i had just finished dragging the Caber to my practice area. Man that thing got heavy towards the end... could have used some help

....Possibly the most physical effort yet in a DIY project.

Carry on, and take more pics!

Be weeeeery quiet, I'm hunting cabers!

Congratulations. Yes, sounds like you earned your DIY merit badge on this one. Good luck with it!

    Got WOOD!

I started to view the picture from the bottom up and saw that small log and thought, gee that’s small , then the rest of the image loaded. WOW! Got WOOD!

That stick should make a beautiful caber. What do you think the weight is?

Man, what I would give to have some real TREES around me here.

Palm trees and Joshua Trees just don't make good cabers.

Nice stick, be sure to store it off the ground or it will rot.
