St. Andrew's Society of Yokohama & Tokyo
http://www.st-andrews-society.com/ohanamiceilidh
Several weeks ago, I sent an e-mail of support to the members of the St. Andrew's Society of Yokohama & Tokyo from our local society. I received a reply this morning from their secretary with this information about an upcoming event with proceeds going to disaster relief.
Yours aye,
T.

Mmmm. Scotch and sushi. I could really get behind an idea like that. Must bring it up at our local society's monthly meeting.

I am going to bring it before our society's executive committee that we make a donation to the cause, as our city's "sister city" is Isesaki. When our town was battered by a severe ice storm back in 2007 (although nothing compared to the destruction in Japan today), Isesaki raised funds for us. It's the least we can do.

Update: Today, I registered my wife and I for the fundraising event in Tokyo next weekend. I am also pleased to report that the Quaich will be in attendance, and based on a suggestion in another thread (Thanks, CameronCat), I hope to make a toast to the spirits and memory of those lost in the recent disaster.
I know that many XMarkers have expressed their concern for us here in Japan, and many more have been offering up their prayers, good wishes and support as well. I hope that by bringing the Quaich to this fundraiser event that the Xmarks rabble may feel as though they are with us there in spirit.
