    Another Gunn Modern Pic

I know I just posted a couple pics of this kilt last month. But was playing around with the camera today down in Tucson and got what I think is a very good pic of what the Gunn Modern tartan truely looks like in a kilt.

Think this is important since I was never much impressed with the on line swatches of this tartan and even the sample tartan swatch Rocky sent me a couple years ago didn't impress me - even with my Gunn lineage.

When I finally said what the heck, its a blood clan tartan I was very pleased when the kilt showed up. Hopefully, your monitor will pick up what has me so happy.

This is a USA Kilts semi-traditional in Gunn Modern.

Very nice. And you always seem to have some really great scenery when you're pictured in a kilt.

Ron, as you know Gunn is my clan, but I really cannot bring myself to have a kilt in the modern colours - it looks good (very good) on you, and you wear it so well - but it's not for me. I have it in ancient/muted colours and in the weathered colours, both of which I love, but the modern version .................................................. ... sadly, no!

By the way, those Saguaro cactii : eighteen months ago, I brought back to the United Kingdom some seeds I bought in California (but packaged in Arizona!). I planted them in pots which I kept indoors on the kitchen window sill and a few of them germinated!! They have grown apace this summer - appearing to relish light rather than warmth - and I now have ten wee Saguaro seedlings, each about 3/4" high. They would have done much better, I think, if only we'd had some sun these past few months instead of the ever present grey cloud cover, but they're healthy!

    Take care,
    Ham.

Hmmm, Gunn is a distant clan for me...gotta go look at the ancient tartan though. Thanks for the heads up.

And, I'm guessing you already know the secret to raising cactus - other than sun light - Just read the newspaper or check on line. If its raining in Phoenix or Tucson then water the cactus. Otherwise don't water.

Great picture Ron of a wonderful tartan, my Gunn connection comes through my Paternal Grandmother, and the Gunn Modern was my first kilt. I really must get another kilt in a Gunn Tartan, one that fits as the original has not only shrunk so it no longer fits my dad but it has managed to shrink again so that now it does not fit me either.
