Sending an email to Steve is impossible

Every time I log on to the forum I'm met with a message that takes up half the space of my computer screen:

    Hello GG,

If you have logged onto the forum, and found "Oop's, it seems this member has not updated the email address in their profile" under your username, it means that our system attempted to send you a greeting on the anniversary of your joining X Marks. For some reason however, the message was undeliverable.

There can be a few reasons for this but the most common is that you changed your email address and did not update the address here on the forum.

Bogus or throw-away email addresses are one of the give-aways of a spammer.
This is why we require all our members to have a valid email address in their personal profile and to keep it up-to-date.

We assure you that your email address is not visible to the public and we never give out or release personal information.

If you would please contact the forum owner, Steve Ashton via email, telling him that you have updated your email address, he will take this notice off your username.

    steve@xmarksthescot.com
I do have changed my email address, but I have also updated it on my profile months ago, and I have several times tried to contact Steve. However, every time I try to send an email to steve@xmarksthescot.com, I get the message that it is undeliverable, because it is regarded spam.
It is not spam, of course, but what do I do to avoid this quite annoying message? I have also some months ago received an email from the admin, using my NEW address - meaning, it functions - telling me that it has to be updated?
It is greman@dress2kilt.eu and connected to my website, https://dress2kilt.eu.

Thank you for this post. I have updated your profile so you should not see the message again.

It seems that the problem is with the VPN service that you use.
Many people believe that using a VPN is more secure. That is not always the truth. When you use a VPN your internet connection is routed and bounced through a variety of different servers. How many and where those servers are depends on the VPN service.
This bouncing of your connection through servers in different countries all over the world is how people bypass country specific copyrights to stream or download movies, music and porn.

The problem arises when a VPN service routes your connection through a server that is also used by hackers, spammers and bots. You won't know when or if this happens and you have no control over it.

But that same server can access your connection, sell it, copy it, and even piggy-back onto it. VPN servers are so notoriously unsecure that there are published lists of IP addresses connected to these servers of known spammers.

GG, the VPN service you subscribe to has routed your connection to X Marks through at least 250 different IP addresses. Some of these are on the published lists of known spammers.

    Thank you very much, Steve.

You have solved the problem. Now I have to consider the VPN. As far as I could tell, it was set to Denmark, but as you say, I have no idea of what happens afterwards in the chain. And obviously, it had a long distance to travel.
