MoD hair sporran care instructions
If you have ever wondered what the official take on hair sporran care is, this is the care instruction label that comes when they're first issued...
MoD hair sorran are instructions.JPG
You'll notice there is no reference to using you wife's hair-care products, or wearing it in the shower in order to give it a shampoo-and-set, as has been the squaddies' way in the past.
But brushing only, and no combing..?
Those out there who have tried equine grooming products, curry-combs and the like will incur the wrath of the RSM if he catches you..!
Me? I like to keep the sporran's silken tresses neat and smooth with a cat-grooming comb. It works a treat...

It's such a pity that this direction was not followed by later civilian owners of these, and some goat hair sporrans. So many old ones have been 'tidied up by cutting straight across the bottom'.

You're dead right..!
The sporrans end up looking like unfortunate kids whose mothers cut their hair, leaving the fringe too high and straight.
But at least the child's hair can grow back...
