Unusual Things I've Done Wearing My Kilt

I know we've all done things like going hiking in kilts, and we've all had our "first time in public" stories to tell, but I did something truely different (for me at least) a couple of days ago that got me thinking that "new activities" might make an interesting thread.

My Brother-in-law is an avid water skier and every year he takes my wife and daughters camping and skiing and wake-boarding for a week. I was able to join them for a couple of days this year. I wore my Neo Kilt. My wife was very concerned (she's usually very supportive). I don't ski so I don't know how that would have worked but I found that it's pretty challenging to climb in and out of the boat wearing a kilt. The most challenging though was taking a ride on a Seado personal watercraft. The kilt flared out on the back of the PC like the cloak you see in pictures of knights on horseback, it was all very dashing if I do say so myself. At 35 mph that pituresque flare of a kilt became a wildly flapping banner. It really confused people on shore 'cause they couln't figure out what the heck was trailing behind me. The most interesting part of all though was how the kilt floated out in all directions when I got tossed into the drink. My wife said I looked like I was ridding around on a big camo colored jelly fish.

    Jamie,

That must have been a sight to see! Something about kilt wearing that brings out the daringness of life.

I was walking on a brick wall a few months ago, when all of a sudden it stopped. I could have walked back and gone down the proper way, but instead I just jumped the ten feet to the ground, I felt like a parachute

Ah Jamie , You beat me to it . I am just about to get my Cornish Coble sailing boat into the water for the first time in many years and I was going to wear my kilt just for fun. My great fear was that if I fell in with all that wool around the waist I don't think i would ever surface again, but I'm going to have a go anyway. It's great to be part of a group who do daft things in a kilt. I am looking forward to hearing about other adventures.
