Sgian Dubh dimensions

Instead of dealing with a plastic-handled novelty knife of questionable provenance, I’ve decided to fabricate my own. Is anyone able or willing to measure their Sgian Dubh so I may build an accurate version?

Blade:3 & 6/8ths in.

Sheath:4 & 7/8ths in.

I’ve included photos of several of mine which validates what Hauge said — somewhere between 7 and 8 inches.

Thanks to all who replied with information on this thread. I’ve completed the blade itself; epoxied and pinned the handle scales, and will begin the finish work and handle shaping next week. I will post a thread when I’ve completed it.

Hint for the handle: Purple!
