    Whadda ye wan' fer Christmas?

Auld MacTurnip called his three lads together to ask them what they'd like for Christmas.

"Danald," he asked the eldest, "I wonder wha' ye'd like fer Christmas, fer ta celebrate the holidays."

"Well, Father," he replied, "What I'd really like would be a tart'n tie."

"Och, aye," replied the auld man noddin' an' strokin 'is chin, "I think maybe that could be arranged."

"Ranald," he asked the second boy, "I wonder wha' ye'd like fer Christmas, fer ta celebrate the holidays."

"Well, Father," he replied, "I've already got a tart'n tie, an' what I'd really like would be a tart'n scarf."

"Och, aye," replied the auld man again strokin' 'is chin, "I think maybe that could probably be arranged too."

"Sandy," he asked the youngest, the scalawag, "I wonder wha' ye'd like fer Christmas, fer ta celebrate the holidays."

"Well, Father," he replied, "What I'd really like would be a couple hunndred pound."

"Sandy, Sandy," replied the auld fellow knittin' 'is eybrows together, that's a lot of geld. What e'er would ye do wi so much money?"

"Well, Father," he replied turnin' a bit red, "I've already got a tar'n tie an' I've already got a tart'n scarf, an' now I've got a tart'n trouble, and what I could really use would be a couple hunndred pound."

    .

I hope you all get your ties and scarves!
