Sort of a sibling to the Charles' tartans thread in the Tartan forum, let's look at some of Charles' sporrans.
Here are the three "day" sporrans I've seen him photographed wearing recently.
The one on the left is recent and has taken a cantle in production for a century, used on horsehair "piper" sporrans, but cast into a completely different genre by using a leather body by Margaret Morrison.
Note that the "piper" sporran worn by the piper upper right has three knobs, which dresses up the cantle quite a bit.
Likewise much of the history of the sporran on the right can be traced through photographs of Royals.
The three middle tassels have been shortened at some point.
What I don't know is the history of the centre sporran.
