Looking 4 - Scottish dress cultural preservation groups/community organisations
Hello all! I'm volunteering for a group called Fashion Act Now, we're starting a website dedicated to individuals and groups working to preserve and reinstate traditional clothing cultures worldwide. The aim is to shine a light on the alternatives to clothing consumerism and fast fashion culture! While providing a space for like-minded people to come together and share knowledge, events, and make connections.
I'm hoping to gain insights from the community here. Do you know anyone in Scotland (or worldwide actually!) doing this work? We're looking mainly for people who aren't operating for profit, but perhaps social enterprises, voluntary groups, or individuals.
I've struggled to find community groups working with kilts/traditional Scottish dress in particular, but any help or hints for other forms of clothing/textile culture appreciated
