There is a festival coming up in May. It will be on the 7th and 8th thats the first weekend. Here is the site
WWW.celebrationofcelts.com It will be held in Chattam,NY. I believe that it is south of Albany.
My highland regiment was invited to give demonstrations of 18th century
military drills.
Also some great entertainment is lined up!

Kiltie,
My 1745 Jacobite reenactment group will be set up at the Chatham event as well. Will see you there!
(I see you're a postal worker. Me too!)

What regiment are you with? Besides Jacobite (website below), I'm with McGinnis's Co., NY Provincial Reg't., 1755-57, Craig Russell commanding. Used to be with Spikeman's Co., but got sick of being a Rogers' Ranger....

Binghamton, huh? Very pretty area there. I am waiting to hear about jobs at SUNY and Broome County Comm. Coll. there.
My wife and I are moving in June, so a little late for the festival.
However, there is another one, posted by UglyBear, the weekend of July 9th. That one depends on her class reunion. I may make it during the day, but will have to leave early.....

beerbecue,
I hope you land a job here in the Binghamton area at one of our schools! I'm going to try to launch a kilt night at one of the local Irish pubs, so by the time you move up here, hopefully that will be in place.
I have a Georgia background, myself! Was born in Valdosta, and lived in Savannah for 4 years during my Army service.
That Letchworth event you linked to is about 2 hours east of here (Binghamton)....

Mark,
We'll be camped together, as Nic's guys are combining with mine, plus some MacGregors and Farquharsons, all doing 1745 Jacobites. I understand that some of you guys are coming as 78th, some as MacLarens (your Jacobite alternate impression!)....
Should be a blast!!
