The only way I can do it is to share this link.

    26. The Quches sit each side of the Prime Meridian Line where the worlds GMT is measured

    27. The Quest continues. At 2.35pm precisely I pour from the X Marks Quaich to my own. I intend to continue the legacy of the X Marks Quaich by taking mine to wonderful places to meet wonderful people and keep my own log. I would also like to suggest that 2.35 be the time at which Xmark rabblers stop and raise a toast to each other whenever kilted anywhere in the world? Hopefully this will catch on?

    28. My Brother and Dad enjoying the sun and the Quaich...and its contents.

    29. My Dad and friend Steve also enjoying a dram with some fine headgear to make up for the lack of kilts

I hope you found these interesting and I hope the Quaich is bringing joy and good cheer to all those it is yet to meet.

    Slanja!

    Gazbot,

And I viewed those pictures yesterday - the originals you put in the Quaich's book before she came back to Victoria BC.

I brought the Quaich with me back to Australia from Steve's and KKnome's shop where I visited after Kilt Kamp this year. Part of her voyage in Australia this time will be on board 'Ruby Charlotte'. Those interested can go to the 'Hamilton Island Race Week 2015' site and look for links to the photographs that I am sure will be taken during racing, which starts this Sunday, 16th August.

Then in a month's time, we will take the Quaich to the Scottish Country Dancing annual Hunter Valley Branch Ball, being held this year in Coffs Harbour because of the unavailability of the Maitland Town Hall, our usual venue.

More later, once the action starts! Arrrrh, me hearties!!

    Thank you so much Steve,

Sorry for my ineptitude. I hope the quaich is well and on its travels once again. Where is it headed now?

    Kind regards

So, Gazbot, what is the significance of 2:35pm? Why that particular time?

No significance at all really. I had planned a grand day out with the quaich in London taking her to all of the usual sights, however, due to apalling weather and time constraints, it was not possible. So I thought where can I take it that will mean something to our members all round the globe. I though the most significant place, and the one that sort of links us all, would be The Meridian Line at The Royal Observatory. I visited all of the attractions there and had the idea of continuing my own little private quaich quest with my own quaich. I thought it would be interesting to pour from xmarks to mine to continue the link as it were. When I actually got to the meridian line and poured from one to the other it just happened to be striking 2.35.

I just thought it might be a nice thing to suggest to the members to have this as the XMarks toast. We do a similar thing in an organization I am involved with called the 9 o'clock toast where we stop and raise a glass to our global membership both past and present.
