Kilted train ride anyone?
My family will be in Chama for the 4th of July weekend- July2- 5th- to ride the Cumbres & Toltec railroad. http://www.cumbrestoltec.com/ Anyone want to join the fun? My family will be riding on July 4 (if we can still get tix this coming weekend. If not, I'll post an update here.)

Ah, that brings back memories, Hawk.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

The wife and I are taking the ride in Late August. She's been before, but this will be a first for me. Hope it's as nice for you as I've heard it is.

I ride a train kilted most weekends as I am a volunteer on my local preserved railway.

Nighthawk, as much as Joyce and I enjoy that ride, we will need to pass. We took it several years ago from Antonito to the halfway point and back. A very beautiful ride being pulled by an old steam engine.
For those of you interested in the old narrow gauge steam railroads, take a look here at the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. This is one of three that are here in Colorado.

Wow! I forgot I had posted this!
I know the line well- my dad helped to restore it back the early 70's. I literally learned how to walk riding that line. I haven't been there in a few years, though, so I'm looking forward to it.
