Kilt Night Indianapolis Mar 14th
OK, I went to the Claddagh today and they would like for us to have our
kilt night there. The plan is for March 14, 2008 starting at 8pm.
Here is their address:
2539 Futura Park Way, Suite 150
Plainfield, IN 46168
They seem to be a little behind on up dating their site.
They are located at the Metropolis.
I do need to make reservations, so if everyone that is planning on
going please respond to this post it would help.
The last two knilt nights turned out good. The 1st one had close to 20 people the second one had 6. It was really cold both nights.

Glad your coming
Glad to see your coming. Are you bring some friends? I'm going to be calling this week and reserving some space. I'm hoping for a good turn out for the west side of the Indy area. Do you work at a pub/bar/restaurant? Maybe we can have a Kilt Night there?

Yeah, right now I work up at Hirosaki Japanese Steakhouse in Avon.
But I actually have an interview at the Claddagh tomorrow afternoon!
I need to find a new restaurant. The business at Hirosaki sucks and the manager wants us to start tipping out 60% of our tips to the chefs, busboys and bartender.
Not. Happening.

I wish you the best on your kilt night. That may be a bit far for me to venture out from Dayton, OH.

Not to highjack the thread - but if you are interested, I am trying to plan one in Columbus on the 17th, if you are interested...

I called the Hendricks Flyer and she said they will plan on sending someone out to cover us being there. This is the info I sent her.
Where: Claddagh Irish Pub
2539 Futura Park Way, Suite 150
Plainfield, IN 46168
When: March 14, 2008 8 PM
Who: Midwest Kilt Society
Our group is called the Midwest Kilt Society. We are a new group in this area that encourages and promotes the wearing, acceptance, and availability of kilts. The wearing of kilts has been around for centuries and is now slowly making a come back.
Many times we have seen men wearing kilts at special functions to honor their heritage. We believe that this is a very worth while and respectable thing to do. But why does this have to be the only time to enjoy the functionality and comfort of a kilt. It takes a brave man to wear a kilt, outside of Scotland or Scottish gatherings. Why? Because, while women can wear almost anything they want nowadays, our society subjects men to a rigid stereotype that confines them to trousers. Few men have the courage to break out of this mold; for fear that their masculinity will be questioned.
There are times that trousers do have certain practical advantages - especially when riding horseback, performing various physical activities, and in cold weather. But does this mean that trousers are the only things we should wear?
A lot of information can be found on the Internet about kilts, everything from the history, where to purchase them and reasons to wear them. I encourage people to do some research on the subject.

Our Kilt night went well last Friday. We had three new people show up. Red from Avon (very lovely Lass), Greg from downtown Indy (very nice company) and Mike from Louisville KY (member of the Secret Security Service). I had a good time and hope everyone else did too. The bands in the tent put on a great show. I got kilt check while standing in the crowd listening to the band. (she didn't even ask first) (how rude). My daughter was more upset about it then my wife. We just laughed it off.
Hope more can make it next time. And the people that did show come on back.
