    Kilted in "13th Warrior"

I just purchased a copy of the movie "The Thirteenth Warrior" and I noticed that the red haired Irishman wears a kilt throughout the movie but it is only seen in a couple of scenes. It looks to be some sort of tartan and a great looking one at that but very muted colors.

    Indeed you are correct.

I noticed it when they were each swinging around the waterfall in the cave.

Irish, kilt-loving Vikings! Gotta love it!

Yup, that always gave me a chuckle.. Fun movie.. What's even better, he's riding horseback... pprrfftt, Hollywood... They all refer to themselves as Northmen and not Norsemen, which I liked. Although, my memory tells me that they don't ever refer to Red haired warrior as an Irishman... sorry, I'm a big movie buff!

    Anyway, good call!

So you were the one who bought the last copy! j/k I recall that now, though I haven't seen the movie for some time. But I love it! One case where the film is better than the novel--The 13th Warrior is based on the novel Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton.

Which is Crichton's take on Beowulf As a fan of Beowulf I really enjoyed the movie, but I never did get around to reading Crichton's book.

The very best shot of the kilt is after the second battle when the redhaired one carries and drops one of the enemies onto the floor of the common house. There is a perfect shot of the pleats from the rear.

Own that movie too, I love the thing. I'm halfway thru watching again for the umpteenth time and I'll keep an eye out for it. Well spotted.
