    Rugby Jersey Teaser

There has been a lot of talk about rugby jerseys of late so I have taken on a little project.

I am researching the possibility of getting jerseys and having the XMarks badge embroidered. I have not mentioned this to the Wizard yet but it would be my intention to get him to do the embroidery. I am only looking at getting the jerseys and co-ordinating the ordering.

Barbarian brand seems to be the best available and relatively easy to get. The pic below shows the model and colour that I thought would work well. The colours are listed as navy, white and royal.

Sizes available and prices will be posted as my search progresses. TENTATIVELY, prices would POSSIBLELY be in the $60-$70 range before shipping costs, this would include shirt price and embroidery cost.

Question: is there interest in continuing or is the cost too prohibitive? Comments on shirt style and colour are welcome.

    Thank you fellow rabble.

    Fyi

    Mikey,

    A very good idea....

    BUT!

Hank (the owner of our fine establishment) prefers that any "X Mark the Scot" items go through Steve directly. Steve is the sole source of XMTS goodies. Now one can get a patch from Steve and make their own shirt for personal use (or send Steve a shirt to have the design directly put on the shirt). But that is it.

However if you have an idea to pitch to the Wizard of BC to pick up and run with that is another thing.

    Cheers

    Jamie

Jamie and I came up with a great custom made jersey (Barbarian) that would have the logo on it, but int he end with taxes and shipping it was closing in on $100. Some people won't pay that for a kilt never mind a shirt.

I am still looking from time to time and if we can find a way to make it happen at a reasonable cost we will have Steve drop the word and get the ball rolling.

Jamie, thanks for posting the reminder re: XMTS merchandise. My thoughts were that since any member can get the embroidered crest done by Steve, I would just handle getting the shirts and remove some of Steve's workload.

By allowing the interested members to choose a shirt colour and pattern, there would be uniformity.

In my somewhat befuddled mind, I thought that this would, in esscense, be the same as members sending their own shirt to Steve to have the embroidery done. I would then be acting only as a shirt retailer.

If I have erred in some way, I most humbly apologize. It was not my intention to go against any policiy we have but merely to fulfill a desire expressed by members.

Please send a PM with your recommendation. Thank you.

I recommend you buy a beer and a whisky for your local moderator next time you guys meet up so I can properly remind you of the rules of this forum

It's a good idea Mike, and I am still looking in to it, but we decided long ago to have all gear go through one source. We had an issue a few years ago with an order of t-shirts put together by a member. When the shirts were delayed (no fault of the member) we started getting some questions asked and some misguided anger. Thankfully it all worked out in the end. One day i will show you the design Jamie and I came up with. Too bad it would have been around $90 per jersey.

That's a really nice choice of shirt (both color and style) for an X-Marks badge.

    Rugby Jersey

Like the idea, but as you probably already know there are a large number of Scotland jerseys out there, some including the saltire as part of the design.
