Why wear your Xmark Tartan Kilt

One great reason to wear your XMark tartan kilt is the people you meet. Today at Ft. Casey in Western Washington a young gentleman came up and asked me what tartan I was wearing. When I told him it was Xmark he said he was a lurker and was considering signing up. After a short talk he assured me he was going to sign up now having met a real-live XMarker. Just one more good reason to wear the colors when you can.

    Bravo!

The XMTS tartan gets a lot of compliments and I am always proud to answer people what this tartan it is and the significance of XMTS.

I am a Galbraith by birth, a Nicol / Macleod by marriage, and a member of X Marks the Scot.com by choice!

In terms of the dear friends I have connected with and the marvelous times I have had here and out and about in the real world I have to say

    This is my clan.

    Cheers

I'm looking forward to answering questions like that... I've got an XMTS kilt in the Wizard's queue and will be really glad when I can finally "fly" the colors of X Marks.

I always enjoy explaining the tartan's significance when I wear it. Most people seem very intrigued by the idea.

I had a couple from Glasgow come up to me today and ask what tartan I was wearing, I told them it was the XMarkstheScot tartan and what it was about, they told me that their son was getting married next year and they would be wearing MacLoed of Lewis, and they thought that the XMarks tartan was just lovely. I have to agree. After that I recited some Burns for them, Tam O'Shanter, they loved it and we parted friends.

Thought I'd add a photo from our encounter at Ft. Casey.

Kiltman well done for spreading the word but allow me to advise. Start saving your pennies for when SOKS* takes over management of X Marks you will all be forced to wear our tartan - Maple Leaf.

    The real question...

To me, the real question, assuming one has an X-Marks tartan kilt, is, "Why NOT wear it?"

I cannot think of a reason, save for that one has other more moment-appropriate kilts to wear.
