Not really a "KILT" don't
Michele and I were at the Celtic Fling at the PA Renn Faire site yesterday. A good time was had by all, which will be in another thread. But I almost fell down laughing at one of the attendees. Strutting along, in a black tee shirt with "Real Men Wear Kilts" across the front, and on his lower half.....bermuda shorts! I guess he was trying to send a message.

Were they authentic Bermudas, or what passes as such in the States?
Real Bermudas are never worn with a t-shirt, but rather in this manner:

I am sooooo trying to laugh with him, not at him, but it's very difficult.
Talk about a priceless moment. I wish you had gotten a picture of him.
On the other hand, he does help make the point, doesn't he.

So
If we are going to be that detail oriented on shorts, why not on kilts?

Again, if they were "real" Bermudas, worn in the proper fashion (as per the link I posted above), then I for one would support the gentleman 100% in wearing them at the Highland Games. I've always admired the traditional attire of Bermuda, and it's a shame that the term Bermuda Shorts has been hijacked and turned somewhat perjorative in the States.

Rest easy. I don't think any aspersions are being cast on Bermuda Shorts here. The gentleman's "Real Men Wear Kilts" T-shirt would have been ironic, to say the least, no matter what kind of p@nt$ he wore.
And, by the way, I happen to agree about Bermuda Shorts... properly worn, they'd be a great option for business here in Savannah.

I've been lobbying for them as proper business attire for quite sometime in SW Missouri during the Summer, especially THIS Summer!
