As much as I would love to, unfortunately no. I did promise my son that we will save up to go to Scotland and England next summer though. Maybe we can squeeze in a few days at next year's Open Championship. Where is it next year? Carnoustie?

    The Open Championship

I hope to be going to Turnberry at least one day. I hope that you enjoy the experience.

May I gently suggest that one refers to it as the Open Championship. There is no such tournament as the "British" Open. The term is one of convenience for television companies.

I agree with you on "The open" There are many opens, Us, Canadian, and ect, but those of us who play and enjoy the game know that although the TV people call it the British open to distinguish it form the other Opens. It is the oldest and, the only one worthy of being just simply, "The Open" It is all of the other opens which need such modifiers in front of the word open to identify them.
