Kilts in Nepal? India?
Is there a Scots group in Kathmandu, such as St Andrew's Society? An informal group of Scots or those of Scots descent?
What about northern India, especially Delhi, Dehra Dun, Dharmasala, or environs?
Thanks for any info.

Gil, I'm fairly sure I have pics of a pipe band from Nepal that were at the games in Estes Park a few years ago. It might take me a while to find them but I will post when I do. They did not have kilts but did have trews as I remember.

Most likely Gurkhas. Their pipers wear trews in the Douglas tartan.
In terms of Scottish expat societies in India and Nepal, I haven't seen any web presence for them, but I'm sure Bombay and Calcutta both had St. Andrew's Societies at one time. Perhaps sending an e-mail off to the British Embassy would do the trick? They tend to keep track of such organizations.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am pondering whether to take a kilt. It might be just excess weight that I would never wear. I tend to go native. It makes life simpler....and cooler!
It would be interesting to run into remnants of the Raj there, 60 years on. I know that they exist, though not terribly fashionable or politically correct at the moment in most circles.
