Hi guys. I'm a bit broke at the moment but when my cashflow picks back up again I'm hoping to buy myself a new pair of boots for casual-wear with my kilt.
I'm a traditionalist in traditional settings, and I'm not planning to wear the boots in a traditional setting so I'm perhaps looking for something quite contemporary/different.

Standard safety Timberland and Caterpillar boots don't really float my boat. They're comfortable - but I'm looking for something a little higher - around maybe 10-15inches tall. Dark brown and black leather would probably look best universally with all of my kilts, although I'm not sure about how the boot length would look. I havent found much at the moment but I was looking at this selection of boots:

Ugg Rockville - nice boots, although they're expensive and may be a little "low"

Caterpillar Creed - they look pretty solid, but are even lower, like an ankle boot

Doc Marten Airwair - probably about the right height, but look like rigger boots

G-star Chapter - look comfortable, but a little too much like horse riding boots

Any thought/suggestions on what boots would look good with a kilt?
It's been hard for me to find any of these boots in a shop. I'd love to put my kilt on, go out and try them all on - but I'd have to order online and send them back if they're not right...
...so anyone with pictures of them wearing high-ish boots with their kilt would be appreciated!

Thanks!
