Checking the quality of a purchased kilt?
Hello all, You guys are so helpful with everything else kilt related, I figured there's no better place to figure this out either. I just received my tartan kilt I purchased on ebay, and I now realize that I have no idea if I got a good deal or not. I will say that I'm really liking the Nicholson hunting tartan in person, way better than it looked in the picture, but am wondering on what I can look for, as far as determining if I got what I payed for. It was advertised as an 8 yards 100% wool ex-hire Kilt. the problem is, I have no idea what that should look or feel like. It was purchased from a reputable ebay store in edinburgh. So what should i be looking for. I don't think I got ripped off really, although I will have to get it adjusted a bit. it seems the inner buckle is a couple of inches tighter than the outer one. but other than that it seems nice. I digress, however. So any thoughts? What things can I look for to determine quality? How can I determine the material? I believe there is a tag on the inside that reads Highland wear, but I'll double check that. I'll try to get some pics up later today. thanks in advance. you guys are great.
