Extra Long Hose for Tall men
I am quite tall, and most all of the hose I find are too short for my tastes. Do any of you know of a source for extra long hose.
Also, as I am in Florida, I prefer a wool blend or acrylic. 100% wool gets a bit uncomfortable. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Extra Long Hose for Tall men
Try House of Cheviot hose as they seem longer than most. Unfortunately they are 100% wool though

Try sending an E-mail to WB socks in the UK at the following:
"sales@wbrewin.co.uk"
I've gotten a few pair from them, they may have what you need or can make a recommendation.

I have some from Hamilton Dry Goods here:
http://www.hamiltondrygoods.com/socks/kilt-socks/
They have over the calf, which folds down nicely on a tall man, and they are cotton.

Re: Extra Long Hose for Tall men
Piper's bobble top hose (just google pipers kilt hose and shop for the best prices and colors) are the longest I have found. I am 6'5" and wear US13+ shoes, and each of the pairs of pipers hose I have are able to be pulled up a couple inches ABOVE my knee cap before being folded down two or three times to form a nice full turnover top at the appropriate distance below my lower knee cap. Most of the House of Cheviot hose that come in solid colors are also very long but not quite as long as the pipers, while the HoC pattern top hose may or may not be long enough depending on your shanks.

Keep an eye out for "shooting stockings" or "country hose," as well. Those are made to wear with breeches, and may run a few inches longer than many kilt hose.
sarge if you're standing in your sock-feet, how far from the floor is the place where you'd like the top of your hose? Perhaps some of our long-shanked brethren can offer some specific suggestions.

Thanks for the recommendation. I do have a correction, however - House of Cheviot hose are a very comfortable wearing 50/50 blend of Merino wool and synthetic (mostly acrylic, with a bit of lycra).
I am 6'3" and know others that are 6'4" and taller who wear House of Cheviot hose with no problem. The L and XL sizes are generally 18" tall, heel to cuff. Some of the styles with patterned cuffs are in fact longer, due to the large size of the cuff, so you can get by with even longer legs.
